You don’t however have the right to demand to have a medical intervention. “Patient’s have the right to make unwise decisions.” In the UK, you can demand not to have a medical intervention (as long as you have mental capacity). You can really see it in that he keeps getting more and more of his nose removed. I read his father used to make fun of his nose. He clearly had body dysmorphia and needed therapy for the early trauma. I get that it’s private practice, and they might be thinking “well if I don’t do it he’ll just get someone else to do it anyway”, but why not just say ‘no’.
